Festival of Fireworks, 2008
Catton Hall
End of August announced the annual Festival of Fireworks for me,
10th year running (second at Catton Hall).
And, as per usual, the displays were breathtaking.
A first this year was the introduction of Daylight fireworks,
Yes, Daylight fireworks, shipped in from China just for this event. =]
As in previous years, the top three firework production companies from the UK fired up their rockets for a dazing light show that illuminated the South Derbyshire countryside.
Accompanied by JiangMen Fireworks direct from china, Kimbolton Fireworks, Phoenix Fireworks and Jubilee Fireworks exploded onto the scene with Rockets, Catherine Wheels, Roman Candles and many many other types of fireworks all launched to music.
Sadly, Phoenix Fireworks once again, were rather poor on their display, failing to wow the crowd.
Jubilee Fireworks had an epic show that was blighted by the fact it was the shortest of the four events.
Kimbolton Fireworks as in the past, blasted the sky with rockets fired and explosions left and right in sync to several music tracks.
JiangMen Fireworks; a stand-in for Yang Man Fireworks, whom due to the restrictions on export of explosives during the Olympic games failed to show; was an epic show, with both a night show, and the day firework event, bringing colours that are rarely seen in fireworks such as deep purples and dark greens.
Their main even consisted of several launches to many Chinese themed music.
All in all, an amazing night out at the end of August, =]
